Kate Raworth

Kate Raworth (b. 1970) is a British economist and lecturer. She studied Economics at University of Oxford and received honorary doctorates from University of York, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, and Business School Lausanne. Raworth has worked at the United Nation and for Oxfam. She teaches at the Environmental Change Institute in Oxford and the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. Since 2020, she is Professor of Praxis at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. Raworth is a member of the Club of Rome. She is best known for developing the concept of “Doughnut Economics,” a circular economy model able to respond to essential human needs and planetary boundaries.
