Rem Koolhaas (b. 1944) is a Dutch architect, lecturer, and writer. He worked as a journalist before studying at the Architectural School of Architecture (AA) in London from 1968 to 1972. In 1975, he was one of the founders of the architectural firm Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA). In 1978, his book “Delirious New York: A Retroactive Manifesto of Manhattan“ was published. His building projects include the headquarters of China Central Television (CCTV) in Beijing (2012), the Fondazione Prada in Milan (2015), and the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow (2015). In 2000, Koolhaas was awarded the Pritzker Prize. In 2014, he was director of the 14th Venice Architecture Biennale. He teaches at Harvard University in Cambridge.
