Engadin Art Talks | E.A.T. X St. Moritz

Join us on January 26, 2025, at Scala in St. Moritz for a satellite event following the main Engadin Art Talks (E.A.T.) in Zuoz. This event continues E.A.T.’s exploration of Form & Impact, examining how art shapes meaningful engagement and societal impact.

The program features a conversation between Maja Hoffmann and Stefanie Hessler on the latest edition of Elevation 1049, a site-specific project co-founded by Hoffmann and curated by Hessler in the Swiss Alps, where international artists create outdoor works inspired by the unique landscape of Gstaad. Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit a new sculpture installation near St. Moritz.

Furthermore, E.A.T. curator Hans Ulrich Obrist will engage with artist UMAN, whose richly textured work channels her experiences across cultures—from Somalia to Kenya, Denmark, and the U.S.—and combines memory with vibrant, layered compositions. UMAN’s paintings, informed by East African landscapes and traditional calligraphy, reveal a fluid interplay of abstraction and figuration that reflects both physical and spiritual journeys.

This satellite event is open to all ticket holders of the main program.
