How can we rethink the city? How can we prepare for the 21st century? How do we deal with the threat of climate change? These are the key questions for Bas Smets in relation to landscape architecture in the urban environment. Using projects in France for La Défense and Notre Dame in Paris and the Parc des Ateliers in Arles, he explains his concept of “biospheric” architecture.
