Dario Gamboni (b. 1954) is a Swiss art historian, curator, and lecturer. He studied French Literature, Art History and English Studies in Lausanne. In 1989, Gamboni was awarded a doctorate for his dissertation on the French symbolist Odilon Redon. He taught at colleges and universities in Lyon, Cleveland, Amsterdam, Frankfurt am Main, Buenos Aires, Freiburg im Breisgau, Mexico-City, São Paulo, Tokio, New Delhi, and Paris. From 2004 to 2020, Gamboni was Professor of Art History at the University of Geneva. In 2006, he was awarded the Prix Meret Oppenheim. His research interests include iconoclasm, visual ambiguity as well as museums created by artists and collectors.
