Emma Hodcroft (b. 1986) is a British-American molecular epidemiologist. She studied Biology at the Texas Christian University in Forth Worth and the University of Edinburgh. In 2015, Hodcroft was awarded a doctorate for her dissertation on virulence in connection with HIV. Since 2020, she is an assistant at the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine at the University of Bern. Her research focuses on the phylogenetics of viruses and other pathogens. With the spread of the coronavirus in 2020, Hodcroft has become one of the most followed researchers in Switzerland on X (Twitter).
