Ernesto Neto

Ernesto Neto (b. 1964) is a Brazilian artist based in Rio de Janeiro. He studied at Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage in Rio de Janeiro. Since the mid-1990s, his large-scale amorphe sculptures made of elastic fabrics have been shown at biennials and exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale 2001, 2003 and 2017 as well as Skulptur Projekte Münster (2017). Spirituality, humanism, and ecology are key aspects of Neto’s work.
