Iso Camartin

Iso Camartin (b. 1944) is a Swiss philologist and essayist, as well as a professor of Romansh literature and culture at ETH and University of Zurich. He was the Head of the Culture Department of Swiss Television DRS and was responsible for the Opera Workshop at Zurich Opera House. Camartin published numerous publications, including: 'Opernliebe. Ein Buch für Enthusiasten', 'Die Kunst des Lobens. Zur Rhetorik der Lobrede', 'Mein Herz öffnet sich deiner Stimme', 'Warum Johann Sebastian Bach keine Oper schrieb' and 'Verdorbene Buchstaben, heilige Schriften und letzte Worte - Eine Sammler-Reise durch Schriftkulturen und -traditionen'. He currently lives in Zurich, Disentis and New Brunswick (NJ).
