Manthia Diawara (b. 1953) is a Malian cultural historian, writer, and lecturer. In 1985, he received his doctorate from the Indiana University. Diawara is a Professor at New York University (NYU) and Director of the Institute of Afro-American Affairs. He has published widely on the topic of film and literature of the Black Diaspora.
