Niklas Maak (b. 1972) is a German architectural historian, journalist, and lecturer. After studying art history, philosophy, and architecture in Hamburg and Paris, he was an editor at the Süddeutsche Zeitung in Munich from 1999 to 2001. Since 2001 he has been one of the leading editors of the feuilleton of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. He teaches Architectural History at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main and at Harvard University in Cambridge. His most recent publications include “Server Manifesto: Architecture of Enlightenment: Data Centers as Politics Machines“ (2022).
