Rico Valär (b. 1981) is a Swiss literary scholar and cultural mediator. He grew up in Zuoz in Engadin. Valär studied Linguistics, Literature, and Romansh in Zurich. He received his doctorate in 2011 for his dissertation on the history of the Romansh language and homeland movement. Valär worked at the Federal Office of Culture. Since 2018, he is Professor of Romansh Literature and Culture at the University of Zurich.
