Roberto Balzaretti is a jurist (doctor of law) and senior Swiss civil servant and State Secretary in the European Affairs Directorate of the FDFA. Until 2024 he was the Swiss Ambassador to France and to the principality of Monaco. He is currently the Swiss Ambassador to Italy.
