In this video, E.A.T. curator Philip Ursprung opens the 2026 edition of Engadin Art Talks by reflecting on the previous year’s theme and his own blind spots, prompted by a dialogue on non-Western perspectives of art as a communal practice. From this moment of self-reflection, he introduces Bonds and Gaps as the 2026 theme: a focus on togetherness, community building, solidarity, and care in a time of political and moral fragility. Drawing on contemporary thought and lived experience, Ursprung frames the talks as a call to recognise interdependence, to acknowledge what divides us, and to actively choose trust, attention, and belief in one another.
