(LA)HORDE — the artist collective consisting of Marine Brutti, Jonathan Debrouwer, and Arthur Harel — explore the intersection of dance, digital culture, and activism. Present during the 2025 edition of Engadin Art Talks were Marine and Arthur, who discussed their engagement with online dance communities, particularly jumpstyle dancers discovered on YouTube, and how these encounters led to collaborative performances that blend traditional and contemporary movement. They reflected on their leadership at Ballet National de Marseille, where they expanded the institution’s scope by integrating diverse dance styles and digital influences. They also highlighted their collaboration with Georgian dancers and the techno scene at Bassiani, where dance became an act of political resistance. Throughout the discussion, La Horde emphasized dance as a universal and transformative language — one that transcends physical borders, disrupts hierarchies, and creates new forms of social and artistic connection.
“Dance is not just movement — it’s resistance, it’s connection, it’s a language that can say what words cannot.”
