In 2025, we learned with great sadness of the passing of our cherished curator, Koyo Kouoh. A fierce intellect, guiding spirit, and uncompromising advocate for the transformative power of art, Koyo profoundly shaped the ethos of the global art world. Her curatorial vision was rooted in deep listening, radical hospitality, and a fearless commitment to truth. At Engadin Art Talks, she challenged everyone to see more clearly, think more deeply, and act with greater integrity. The absence she leaves behind is immense, yet so too is the legacy she leaves us.
“I'm a lover of gatherings. I'm a lover of convening — in terms of bringing people together to share ideas — and there are many formats for that. Particularly in our space of arts and culture, these conversations are essential. Beyond the content of the amazing speakers that we bring, it's also meeting other people, making connections, expanding your ideas, expanding your horizons. So, the convening of people to speak — to share ideas, to share knowledge, to educate each other — is essential.”
