About the talk

In this video, Chris Dercon, who was President of the French Réunion des Musées Nationaux from 2019 until 2022, looks back on the eventful past of the Grand Palais in Paris. He reflects on the Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier and the French author André Malraux. Dercon further explains the forward-looking strategy he employed in his role as director at the Grand Palais and explores the museum of the future.

“We need to create spaces that give us confidence to invent new public forms, and that is going to be the dictum for the new Grand Palais.”
