Joanna Leśnierowska links the emergence of modern dance with the current performance program “Acziun Susch” in Engadin. Whereas classical ballet had sought to overcome gravity, modern dance had focused on the connection between human movement and nature. Leśnierowska refers to the pioneers of 20th century choreography such as Isadora Duncan, Martha Graham and Trisha Brown. In 2004, she founded Poland’s first choreography program in Poznan. At the Muzeum Susch of patron Grażyna Kulczyk, Leśnierowska continues her commitment to contemporary dance performance.
“Choreography is organizing movement in time and space.”
