Adrián Villar Rojas poses the question of the connection between capitalism and the Anthropocene using the example of his homeland Argentina. Since colonization by the Europeans, Argentina has been a rural area from a global perspective, which as a whole serves to grow and extract food and raw materials for the First World. Villar Rojas thus adds a global, critical connotation to the concept of the countryside.
“It’s important to decolonize the concept of Anthropocen.”
